Frequently Asked Questions

Should I register my child for a "monthly schedule" or a "drop-in"?
Registering your child for a "monthly schedule" means your child will attend the same day(s) of the week, each week of a given month. This option is listed as “AM Program” and “PM Program” during the registration process.

The "drop-in" option is available as a convenience to families who do not need a set monthly schedule, but rather use EDP on an as-needed basis.
This option is listed as “Drop In Registration” during the registration process. Once registration is complete, parents/guardians will be able to access the “Drop-in Calendar” in their account to sign up for specific day(s).

How do I schedule an EDP "drop-in" day?
To schedule an "EDP Drop-In day", please follow the steps below:
  • Parents / guardians sign into their SchoolCare Works Family Portal
  • Select the "Attendance" tile (on the left-hand side)
  • If you are signing up more than one child, please select the specific "Student" (child). If you are signing up more than one child who attends a different school than the first child, please make sure the correct "Room" (school) is selected.
  • Select the days for which care is needed from the provided calendar
    • AM EDP is listed as "2022-2023 AM Drop-In Calendar"
    • PM EDP is listed as "2022-2023 PM Drop-In Calendar"
Daily drop-in sign-up must be completed online, 24-hours prior to the start of the program. In order to maintain staff-to-students ratios, drop-in for a specific day may not be available if the program has reached the maximum enrollment for that day. Program payment is processed at check-out.

Is EDP open on Early Release days?
Yes - On Early Release days, EDP is open from school dismissal until 6:00pm - with the exception of the Wednesday before Thanksgiving where we close at 3:00pm. If your child is scheduled to attend a day that falls on an Early Release, your child is all set. If your child is NOT scheduled to attend on a day that falls on an Early Release, you may sign them up as a drop-in, pending availability in the program.

Who should I notify that my child will be absent from EDP?
If your child will not be attending afternoon EDP on their scheduled day, please let the appropriate Site Coordinator know (via phone call or email), as well as your child’s classroom teacher and school office staff. No notification is required for morning EDP.

What does my child need to bring to EDP?
Please make sure your child has a snack, refillable water bottle, a lunch (on Early Release Days), and weather appropriate clothing.
